Proverbs of the Windrush Child is a series of mixed-media portraits of individuals who migrated from the Caribbean to Britain as children during the Windrush era. The series was first presented as a solo public display at the Black Cultural Archives, Brixton, in Summer 2023, and later featured in The Tapestry of Black Britain launch exhibition at Stanley Arts, London, in October 2024.

Through mixed media portraits and personal testimony, the sitters reflect on the profound impact of migration on their lives. Their stories reveal shared threads - the loss of nature and community that shaped their childhoods, the stark realities of post-war Britain and the enduring resilience that carried them through the decades that followed.
